 We have already started our journey though have confronted a lot of obstacles since 2013. There is a beautiful saying in English that morning shows the days. We are really optimistic to do something for our outstanding outset for leather sector. But if we want to contain our attainment, collaboration is necessary.

Considering of our experience we are nothing but old though our organization is new. A good Combination of huge experience of my career in M/s. Kid leather Industries, M/S. Vulua Tannery, Apex footwear, Legacy footwear, Super protective Shoe(PVT) Limited, Cosmic Jute and Leather industries , European Commission(Switch Asia project), DCCI I inspire to go ahead.  I worked as Executive Director at NRS Rubber and Plastic Industries.

LRC is seems to be a central hub in Bangladesh leather sector with positive and perspective roles in research, training, designing, forecasting, social development and leading in science and technology relating to leather. Some of the important functions of LRC are:

  • To give technical & market oriented inputs for formulation in respect of Leather sector;
  • To prepare materials for various conferences relating to World Leather, SLTC, ALCA, IULTCS, International Leather, WTO, CLRI, BLC, SATRA, LASRA etc;
  • To represent trade & fair, conference at different nation and international organization;
  • To disseminate technical & business related information to the Leather sector;
  • To publish latest design, news, trade and investment related information, analysis, guide books on a monthly or yearly basis;
  • To organize training courses, seminars/workshops/symposia, delegations, trade fairs and participation thereof at home and abroad for increase capacity of the owners, stakeholders, Technologists and workers;
  • To undertake activities like survey, forecast technology, research etc. for suggesting favorable technical & business related policies;
  • To prepare, implement and evaluate projects for leather sector development and to deliver time bound, need-based and diversified services to the business community;
  • To contribute in different social activities relating to leather sector;
  • To provide consulting services and practical support (eg. Industry setup, Machineries, Green Technologies);
  • To develop technologies and deliver to the industry through effective extension network;
  • To improve better work environment for workers & employees;
